Modi Auto Corporation was founded in 1932 in Gwalior by the visionary Late Mr. Chimanlal Modi, marking the beginning of a legacy built on innovation and ambition.
Early Milestones
In 1980, the company expanded its portfolio with Ford trucks. By 1985, it entered the bus transport sector with an all-India permit. In 1987, LML Vespa was added, followed by Royal Enfield in 1992.
Growth Under New Leadership
In 2000, Mr. Gautam Modi carried the legacy forward by introducing Hyundai. Under his leadership, the group diversified further, adding several renowned automotive brands and expanding operations across new verticals.

Mr. Gautam Chimanlal Modi is a mechanical Engineering graduate from Gwalior (Class of 1980) with over 38 years of experience in the automobile industry.
Career Journey
He served as the driving force behind Modi Hyundai for more than two decades and currently leads the Gautam Modi Group as its Managing Director. He also contributes to the education sector as a committee member at a reputed school in Mumbai.

Nidhi Modi Chheda is a dynamic leader with over 18 years of experience in the automotive industry. As Director of the Gautam Modi Group, she has played a key role in strengthening and expanding the Group’s presence across leading brands including Audi, Hyundai, MG, Mahindra, and KIA. Her strategic insight and strong understanding of market dynamics continue to drive sustainable growth and innovation.
Beyond automotive retail, Nidhi also leads Krishiv Insurance, where she advocates financial awareness and responsible decision-making. A committed supporter of women’s empowerment, she is a TEDx Women speaker who inspires future leaders through her journey, values, and forward-looking leadership approach.
